Tugging Through Time
Tugging Through Time tells the story of New York Harbor tugboats, from the early steam days, to modern Z Drives and ATBs. Scenes in the film include rare footage of early steam tugs, onboard footage of today's modern tugs at work, and interviews with tugboat company presidents Brian McAllister, Ned Moran, and Morton Bouchard. In a most dramatic fashion, the film shows the heroic roles tugboats have played in New York Harbor, including the evacuation of thousands during 9/11. Tugging Through Time won a Bronze Telly for best historical documenatry, and has aired nationally on PBS. The DVD is 55 minutes long.

Bound For Sea
Bound For Sea shows for the first time, how commercial ships operate in New York Harbor. The viewer goes onboard as container ships, aircraft carriers, and ATBs enter and leave the Harbor day and night. We learn the vital role tugboats play in the efficiency of ship movements, how the U.S. Coast Guard’s Vessel Traffic Service monitors activity in the Harbor, and the training of harbor pilots on the Bridge Simulator at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point. The film provides a rare and fascinating glimpse into this underappreciated aspect of New York Harbor.
